Who is Mike Sales?

Mike Sales is a Gulf Coast-based, independent recording artist who draws country, reggae, standards, oldies, pop and rock influences, creating his eclectic, “beachified” style.

Whether he’s performing on the beach with guitar in hand or on stage with the Restless Natives band singing covers or originals, Sales is often asked what he's doing here.

"The island is the perfect place to incubate a career while making a living, and it reminds me of Hawaii!"

Originally from Santa Rosa, California, Mike began singing at age 10. Having studied vocal technique with the late Patti Santos of It's a Beautiful Day, he later went on to sing with local bands and form Crashparty for the Western US club circuit.

After touring 42 cities in 11 states, including Hawaii and Alaska, Mike left the band and the road for Nashville, Tennessee, where he wrote songs, recorded demos, knocked on doors and managed clubs to pay the bills. Realizing Nashville had enough singers and wouldn't miss one club manager, he took a suggestion to visit Florida. He's been here ever since.

His talent, work ethic and tenacity have paid off, and his company, Mike Sales Presents, was awarded the 2011 Small Business of the Year award by the Anna Maria Island Chamber of Commerce. Check out his schedule on the
calendar page, his debut album, “Howlin with Mike Sales” on iTunes and music from his "The Los Angeles Sessions" on Reverbnation. Mike's third album, "Paradise Has a Soundtrack" is due for release in the spring of 2013.
